Unions & Apprenticeship Systems

This workshop provides a basic overview of construction labor unions and the registered apprenticeship system. We'll cover local NYC info on how to navigate and leverage these pathways for career advancement.

Participants will gain a foundational understanding of labor unions, including their purpose, structure, and benefits for workers in the construction trades. We'll also cover the services NEW offers graduates to help them enter an apprenticeship.

By the end of the workshop, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge to make informed decisions about their career paths and understand the next steps needed to begin the application process through NEW.

You’ll be able to choose to attend virtually or in-person on the registration page.

This workshop will be an interactive session that will provide you with the tools you need to launch your career in construction. You will walk away with a list of next steps and the confidence to take them.

This course is designed to help graduates navigate the commercial and residential job market to find work in the field while they apply for their preferred apprenticeship. It will not include information about labor unions or registered apprenticeships.
